Director. Filmmaker. Strategist

Andres Martinez is a Miami-based video strategist, director, and CEO of Know Cultures; where he helps businesses and organizations leverage the power of video to increase revenue, build an audience of engaged customers, and effectively communicate their value.

Andres shares a combined passion for telling evocative stories, music, business, culture, and education. His mission is to create videos that educate, entertain, and inspire your audience to take action.

For over 8 years, Andres has created, produced, and directed narrative short films, music videos, corporate videos, educational branded content, and commercial photography campaigns for clients in the music and entertainment industries. His meticulous eye for aesthetically pleasing and emotionally filled images along with his expertise in the implementation of video marketing strategies has led him to collaborate with world-renowned musicians such as Camilo, Richard Bona, Emmanuel, Ruben Blades, Carlos Vives, and brands such as Quincy Jones Productions, School of Rock.

In 2018, he photographed the entire cast of the acclaimed PBS TV Show - Que Pasa, USA? for the advertising campaign of the Theater Show version.

Andres was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. During his teenage years on the island, he performed in theater plays for children and adults. After moving to Miami, FL in 2008, he kept performing, playing guitar at the school shows, and making original music for short films and local artists.

He received his BA in Psychology at Florida International University, where he developed a unique perspective when it comes to understanding the human mind and the psychology behind what inspires behavior change. Driven by the desire to make an impact on people's lives and the emerging decentralization of media outlets, he decided to apply his insights to the creative field and became a freelance portrait & advertising photographer. Shortly after, he met veteran DGA director and mentor Michael Abt on his first trip to New York City, who would then inspire him to become a director and filmmaker.

Andres describes himself as a life-long learner and an advocate for decentralizing conventional education. A conscious risk taker who embraces failure and cultivates growth. When he is not creating value for his clients, he is reading, playing music, experiencing new cultures, or who knows jumping off a plane.
